Job summary

James Search Group is partnering with a leading global insurance carrier to hire a Senior Infrastructure Manager for their Manhattan office. This hands‑on leadership role will own the performance, resilience, and evolution of enterprise infrastructure across both on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will shape infrastructure strategy while remaining close to architecture decisions, supporting complex systems, and leading modernization across data center, cloud, and disaster recovery platforms.

James Search Group is partnering with a leading global insurance carrier to hire a Senior Infrastructure Manager for their Manhattan office. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll own the performance, resilience, and evolution of enterprise infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud environments.

You’ll play a key role in shaping infrastructure strategy while staying close to the technology-driving architecture decisions, supporting complex systems, and leading modernization initiatives across data center, cloud, and disaster recovery platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of enterprise infrastructure, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance
• Design and implement scalable solutions across on-prem and Microsoft Azure environments
• Lead modernization initiatives including upgrades, cloud adoption, and disaster recovery enhancements
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, driving root cause analysis and resolution
• Manage data center infrastructure including virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery platforms
• Partner with and manage vendors while maintaining technical ownership of solutions
• Mentor and develop engineering teams through hands‑on leadership
• Contribute to budgeting, capacity planning, and technology selection
• Ensure infrastructure meets security, audit, and regulatory requirements

Technology Environment:

What We're Looking For:

• 8-10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience with 3-5+ years in a hands‑on leadership role
• Strong background across data center operations, virtualization, storage, backup, and disaster recovery
• Experience working across hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud)
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and act as a technical escalation point
• Experience leading teams and managing third‑party vendors

Preferred:

• Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated environments
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM/CMDB platforms
