Job summary

PTR Global is seeking an Infrastructure Innovation Lab Engineer in Charlotte, NC, hybrid. The role focuses on evaluating emerging technologies, configuring lab environments, troubleshooting across OS and cloud platforms, and supporting proofs of concept for CIB innovation initiatives.

The candidate should be a broad technical generalist with strong collaboration skills and a passion for learning new technologies across on-prem, cloud, endpoint, virtualization, and security domains.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, systems administration, lab engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong customer-facing experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering, architecture, and project teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and end-user computing platforms.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, storage, networking, identity, and security technologies.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

• Translate technology evaluation needs into lab requirements and service capabilities with project teams.
• Provide guidance on lab offerings, platforms, constraints, and effective use of the lab environment.
• Troubleshoot issues across operating systems, endpoints, cloud services, connectivity, proxy, identity, and compatibility.
• Administer and support Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Support lab environments including VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Azure, and GCP.
• Automate provisioning and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools.
