Job summary

PINNACLE GROUP (Pinnacle Technical Resources) is seeking an Infrastructure Innovation Lab Engineer in Charlotte, NC to support CIB innovation initiatives by partnering with project teams to evaluate emerging technologies and configure lab environments.

The role requires broad infrastructure knowledge across on-prem and cloud, strong customer-facing skills, and the ability to work across Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, systems administration, lab engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong customer-facing experience serving as a technical advisor to engineering, architecture, and project teams.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments across on-premises, cloud, SaaS, and end-user computing platforms.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Broad knowledge of virtualization, compute, storage, networking, identity, and security technologies.
• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, container-based technologies, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, problem-solving, organizational, and customer-service skills.
• Self-motivated team player with technical curiosity, adaptability, attention to detail, and a passion for learning emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project teams and project managers to translate technology evaluation needs into appropriate lab requirements and service capabilities.
• Provide guidance on lab offerings, supported platforms, technical constraints, and effective use of the lab environment.
• Troubleshoot technical issues affecting project teams, including operating systems, endpoint platforms, cloud services, connectivity, proxy services, identity and access, and compatibility.
• Administer and support Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Support VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform environments used by lab customers.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, or similar tools when appropriate.
• Create and maintain knowledge articles, technical procedures, operational documentation, and service standards.
• Partner with senior infrastructure engineers on platform enhancements, new offerings, lifecycle activities, and service improvements.
