Job summary

WebstaurantStore, the leading online distributor of restaurant supplies, seeks an Infrastructure Engineer focused on server performance and automated workflows to support on‑premises infrastructure and automated deployments of physical and virtual workloads.

You will design high‑performance computing solutions powering AI workloads, web apps, and other heavy operations, using IaC and DevOps to enable self‑service and automation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems, infrastructure engineering, or related fields.
• Experience supporting on-premises or co-located data center infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware and virtual infrastructure (VMware vSphere/ESXi; vCenter HA).
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux environments, including RHEL, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux.
• Familiarity with SQL Server infrastructure as well as NVIDIA GPU-based server and workstation hardware.
• Understanding of performance tuning, capacity planning, and observability.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and support disaster recovery efforts.
• Familiarity with hardware administration, RAID configuration, driver management, lifecycle management, and remote management tools such as iDRAC.
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize physical servers (Dell), VMware vSphere/ESXi virtual infrastructure (vCenter HA), SQL Server environments, GPU-accelerated AI and 3D render servers.
• Own infrastructure performance tuning across compute encompassing both physical and virtualization layers to improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and performance risks using monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Investigate physical server issues end to end, perform root cause analysis, and determine the most appropriate corrective solution.
• Manage physical and virtual infrastructure and support partner teams including DBRE, Security, SRE, Media, and Automated Warehouses.
• Manage and maintain code repositories, keeping configurations up to date in the code base, and support code review processes.
• Support server lifecycle management activities including provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, hardware refreshes, and decommissioning.
• Work with the Infrastructure Operations Dept to install and rack server equipment in our datacenters. Actively participate in datacenter, rack, power, space and installation planning.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, firmware and BIOS updates, RAID configuration, driver management, and out-of-band administration using tools such as iDRAC or equivalent technologies.
• Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including failover testing, backup and recovery validation, and restoration readiness.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects such as migrations, platform rollouts, performance improvement initiatives, and hardware modernization efforts.
• Understanding and ability to navigate Windows Server and Linux-based environments, including RHEL, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to solve complex infrastructure problems, recommend improvements, and strengthen long‑term system health.
