Job summary
WebstaurantStore is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer focused on server performance to optimize our on-premises infrastructure and automate deployments of physical and virtual workloads. You will design high-performance computing solutions for AI workloads, web apps, and data-intensive operations, using IaC and DevOps practices.
The role emphasizes on-prem environments rather than cloud administration. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of infrastructure experience, strong VMware, Windows
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in systems, infrastructure engineering or related fields.
- Experience supporting on-premises data centers and co-located infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware and virtualization (VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter HA).
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux).
- Familiarity with SQL Server infrastructure and NVIDIA GPU-based server hardware.
- Understanding of performance tuning, capacity planning, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize physical servers and VMware virtualization environments.
- Own infrastructure performance tuning across compute, storage and virtualization layers.
- Identify bottlenecks and performance risks using monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Perform root cause analysis on hardware and virtualization issues.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including failover testing.
