RapidFort is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to build, automate, and operate our on-premises infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will spend ~70% of your time on Linux systems engineering and automation, and ~30% on data center hardware, storage, and networking.

You will patch, provision, and troubleshoot in a hands-on role, write runbooks, and participate in on-call rotations. A growth mindset about learning the physical layer is essential.

Formación

• 2–4 years of hands-on Linux production experience.
• Strong Linux command line and troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting ability in Bash and Python for automation.
• Exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Basic networking fundamentals (IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP).
• Willingness to perform physical data center tasks (racking, cabling, site visits).
• Good documentation habits and ability to escalate when needed.

Responsabilidades

• Build, configure, and harden Linux systems (RHEL/Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Write and extend automation in Bash and Python for provisioning and reporting.
• Contribute to Ansible content and maintain roles/playbooks.
• Perform OS patching, lifecycle tasks, and track end-of-life systems.
• Troubleshoot Linux issues and escalate when necessary.
• Propose automation to replace repetitive manual work.
• Execute server hardware tasks, racks, cabling, and firmware updates.
• Handle storage tasks on SAN/NAS and basic hypervisor operations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to postmortems.
