Job summary

Midco is seeking a System Engineer to design, administer, and secure our enterprise infrastructure spanning on‑premises and cloud platforms. You will manage Windows and Unix/Linux servers, virtualization, containers, backup, and DR, while partnering with IT, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable technology solutions.

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, monitor, and support enterprise server infrastructure across Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
Support virtualization platforms, including provisioning, configuration, optimization, and lifecycle management of virtualized resources.
Support and enhance cloud infrastructure services, including Azure-based technologies and platform services.
Implement, maintain, and improve infrastructure automation, scripting, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Monitor system health, performance, capacity, availability, and reliability using enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
Perform system configuration, patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, virtualization, storage, cloud, and operating system issues.
Participate in infrastructure design, solution evaluation, technology implementation, and modernization initiatives.
Participate in backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and execution activities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, architecture diagrams, standards, and operational runbooks.
Partner with Information Security teams to maintain secure infrastructure configurations, support audits and assessments, remediate vulnerabilities, and reduce operational risk.
Participate in incident response activities and serve in on‑call rotations as required.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support infrastructure operations, projects, and strategic initiatives.
Contribute to process improvements, operational efficiencies, automation initiatives, and technology standardization efforts.
Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to infrastructure engineering.
Assist with training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing among team members as appropriate to role level.
