Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented DevOps Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA. You will assist with database sizing and management and perform routine maintenance and administration tasks on the infrastructure hosting our applications, including development, testing, training, and production environments.

You will work alongside Software Developers, DevOps Engineers and Data Engineers to build software that enables our customer network to safely operate at scale

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with SQL databases.
• 4+ years of experience with Linux or Windows system administration.
• 2+ years of experience with Elasticsearch.
• 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with systems design and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, provision, and secure AWS resources including EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, CloudWatch, and VPC; assist with database sizing, management, and server security.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins to support continuous integration and deployment.
• Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure uninterrupted development productivity across all environments.
• Run vulnerability scans, patch infrastructure, manage VPNs, and ensure SSL/TLS certificates remain current.
• Maintain and update software architecture, focusing on secure infrastructure enhancements, system design, operational best practices, and proactive innovation.
• Collaborate closely with peers and customers in a fast-paced environment to enhance performance and scalability.

In this role you will assist with database sizing and management as well as perform routine maintenance and administration tasks on the infrastructure hosting our applications, including our development, testing, training, and production environments. In this role, you will work alongside Software Developers, DevOps Engineers and Data Engineers to build unique software that enables our customer network to safely operate at scale without customer impact.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 7+ years of experience working with SQL databases
• 4+ years of experience with Linux or Windows system administration
• 2+ years of experience working with Elasticsearch
• 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes
• Experience with systems design and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large-scale, enterprise-class network environments
• Experience designing secure infrastructure enhancements to support new capabilities and performance optimization
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams alongside DevOps Engineers and Data Engineers
• Strong detail orientation, problem-solving capabilities, and effective verbal/written communication skills

Clearance Requirements:

Current/Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
