MANTECH in Herndon, VA is seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on automation, big data analytics, and scalable infrastructure for critical national security projects, requiring collaboration with software, systems, and data engineers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Linux, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and security compliance, plus an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. On-site work and continuous learning are emphasized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 3+ years in DevOps/front-end or full-stack development.
  • Experience with Bash, AWS, and Linux system administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, security compliance, configuration management, and patching.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Kubernetes, Terraform, and JavaScript/ECMAScript development.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph should qualify for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and provision AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC) for scalable, secure architecture.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitHub.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans, apply patches, and update cloud and on-prem infrastructure for security and integrity.
  • Design and maintain Kubernetes and EKS clusters for high availability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to meet operational and security requirements.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and policy updates to enhance security.

About The Role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-oriented DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA. This role is pivotal in supporting our efforts to deliver automation, big data analytics, and scalable infrastructure solutions tailored for the Intelligence Community (IC). The DevOps Engineer will utilize their technical expertise to deploy, manage, and optimize cloud and on-premise systems, ensuring robust security, high availability, and operational efficiency. Working closely with software developers, systems engineers, network specialists, and data engineers, the successful candidate will contribute to developing innovative software solutions that enable secure and efficient network operations at scale. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative team working on mission‑critical projects that impact national security and technological advancement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience that demonstrates their capability to succeed in a complex technical environment. A minimum of a high school diploma coupled with at least three years of experience in DevOps, front-end development, or full-stack development is required. Candidates should have practical experience with Bash scripting, working within AWS environments, and Linux system administration. Familiarity with creating and managing CI/CD pipelines, security compliance, configuration management, and patching is essential. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer science, experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, Terraform, and expertise in JavaScript/ECMAScript development. Knowledge of hardware deployment, PKI infrastructure, and encryption services will be considered advantageous. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to qualify for this role.

  • Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes and EKS clusters to provide high availability and optimal productivity for development teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop systems that meet all operational and security requirements, ensuring complete and functional solutions.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and policy updates to enhance operational efficiency and security posture.
