Job summary

Dale WorkForce Solutions seeks an Infrastructure Design Engineer for a 12‑month contract in Columbia, SC. The role supports project‑driven infrastructure deployments using the Deployment Management Methodology (DMM), reviews customer needs and approved solutions, and develops deployment specifications for implementation teams.

You will design server and network infrastructure, produce build diagrams, and ensure designs align with Architecture, Security, and Operations guidance.

Position Overview

This role supports project-driven infrastructure deployments through the Deployment Management Methodology (DMM). The position reviews customer needs and approved technical solutions, assesses required server and network changes, and develops detailed deployment specifications for implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess customer requirements, approved technical solutions, and required server and network infrastructure changes.
• Develop detailed deployment specifications and supporting documentation for infrastructure implementation teams.
• Ensure deployment designs incorporate requirements and guidance from Architecture, Security, and Operations teams.
• Provide technical consultation and support for both project and non-project infrastructure requests.

Server Infrastructure Design - 35%

• Determine server infrastructure requirements based on project needs.
• Define server specifications, including:
  • Number, size, and configuration of distributed and non-host servers
  • Storage requirements
  • Security group membership
  • Operating system requirements
  • Additional server infrastructure needs
• Produce detailed server build specifications and documentation.
• Design infrastructure primarily within one operating system platform.

Network Infrastructure Design - 35%

• Determine network design requirements for project deployments.
• Define network specifications, including:
  • Connectivity requirements
  • Required network equipment
  • Network and data-center placement
  • IP address assignments
  • Firewall rules
• Produce detailed network build specifications for deployment teams.
• Create network diagrams to support implementation activities.

Existing Infrastructure Assessment - 20%

• Review and assess existing network infrastructure.
• Create detailed network diagrams for special requests outside of standard deployments.
• Support security and compliance audit requests.

Technical Consultation - 5%

• Provide technical consultation to customers, Client Advocates, and Application Owners for non-project requests.

Network and IP Support - 5%

• Provide network support and IP address assignments for non-project requests.
