Title: Infrastructure Project Manager

Workplace type: Hybrid; 1-2 days onsite a week

hours: 40/hr work week-Monday through Friday 8-5

Type: Contract

Pay: $61-62.77/hour on w2

Length: 9 month contract-expected end date 12/31/26

Screenings: DISA background check after hire, no tech, full panel drug and background once hired

Must haves:

+The ideal candidate has a history of working as a network, server, or telecom engineer, or as an Infrastructure coordinator in a hands‑on capacity. Technical writing experience and the ability to create diagrams and technical documentation are required.

  • 5–7 years managing multiple Infrastructure and security projects

Role Overview

The IT Project Manager – Infrastructure manages one or more cross‑functional projects within the Infrastructure department of medium to high complexity from initiation through completion. The role requires strong collaboration within a matrix organizational structure and adherence to processes to ensure all project artifacts and deliverables follow established standards.

This role includes documenting requirements, creating diagrams related to infrastructure and security environments, coordinating with infrastructure vendors to schedule or unblock delays, and providing detailed support to the project team as needed. The Project Manager leads assigned IT PMO projects under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Management
  • Manage infrastructure and security projects from beginning to end
  • Implement best‑in‑class equipment, applications, and enhancements
  • Control project scope, cost, and schedule using triple constraint principles
  • Develop detailed project plans and schedules
  • Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost using appropriate verification techniques
  • Maintain project governance through regular status meetings, stand‑ups, and review sessions
  • Screen projects for risks, actions, issues, decisions, financial viability, and improvement opportunities
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Ensure technical feasibility with delivery leads and stakeholders
  • Partner with Infrastructure management to uphold project scope and objectives
  • Coordinate with vendors to reduce workload on the project team and ensure accurate communication
  • Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, and third‑party vendors
  • Ensure vendor PMs align with deliverables, SOWs, invoicing, and timelines
  • Encourage and support escalations and follow established change control processes
Documentation & Reporting
  • Document requirements and create infrastructure and security diagrams using Visio
  • Create, maintain, and store project documentation and records
  • Conduct weekly status reviews and prepare PowerPoint presentations
  • Provide updates on timelines, project health indicators, accomplishments, and upcoming work
  • Lead strategic meetings and distribute meeting minutes
  • Deliver projects on budget with desired outcomes
  • Forecast project financials and communicate variances to sponsors and management
  • Work with Financial Analysts to validate financial reporting
  • Update project forecasts and submit accruals and reclassifications as required
Team & Process Leadership
  • Guide projects using Project Management best practices
  • Define, teach, and enforce good project management practices
  • Promote collaboration and trust across cross‑functional teams
  • Serve as a role model for professional communication and teamwork
  • Understand and apply Software Development Lifecycle principles
