The City of Avondale is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead planning, design, deployment, and support of the City’s server, storage, virtualization, cloud, and enterprise systems infrastructure in the Information Technology Department.

Responsibilities include maintaining security, availability, and performance; executing migrations and upgrades; managing AD/Entra ID, PKI, and Microsoft 365 services; and providing hands-on virtualization and storage administration with VMware and NetApp

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Five years of progressive experience configuring, installing, and managing server infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls.

Responsabilidades

• Design and deploy server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure, including physical servers, hypervisors, storage arrays, and backup systems.
• Plan migrations, upgrades, and retirements of operating systems, enterprise applications, and cloud services.
• Research, evaluate, and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and industry standards.
• Interact and negotiate with external providers to secure systems products and services.
• Configure and administer Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage systems.
• Administer directory, identity, and certificate services, and manage Microsoft 365 services.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and automate routine tasks with PowerShell.
• Manage patching, updates, vulnerability remediation, and security controls.
• Provide 24x7x365 on-call support on a rotation basis.
