Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Infrared Sensor Systems Testing and Integration Engineer in Santa Barbara, CA. You will design, execute tests, and integrate hardware with software across cross‑functional teams to ensure flight‑qualified sensor performance.

The role requires a STEM degree with 1+ years of experience, proficiency in MATLAB/C/C++/SQL/Java/Python/HTML, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. Occasional travel and on‑site collaboration may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field with 1+ years of professional experience; or a related Master’s degree; or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
• Experience coding in MATLAB, C, C++, SQL, Java, HTML, or Python.
• Experience in a laboratory setting, testing hardware and electronics.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and probe electronics/circuit cards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and execute test campaigns that validate sensor performance.
• Integrate hardware and software; support production readiness.
• Work with hardware, software, and program leads to turn requirements into tested hardware.
• Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and schedules for infrared sensor hardware.
• Set up laboratory equipment and operate measurement instruments.
• Automate test sequences and data processing.
• Generate test reports, traceability matrices, and improvement recommendations.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
