Job summary

Anduril Industries in Hudson, NH seeks an experienced R&D Engineering Technician to collaborate with engineers, fabricate high-precision electro-mechanical assemblies, and drive rapid prototyping of infrared optical systems for airborne, maritime, and space platforms.

You will own prototyping resources, assist with fixture development and testing, and contribute to the rigorous cleanroom environment and ESD protocols required for high-reliability components.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as electro-mechanical technician working on high-precision micro-assemblies, vacuum systems, or wafer-handling equipment.
• Rapid prototyping ownership from concept to completion with minimal oversight.
• Strong working knowledge of basic electrical principles (Ohm's Law, voltage drop, wire sizing).
• Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting wiring harnesses and power cables; precision soldering, pin crimping, connector assembly.
• Ability to document assembly workflows and draft SOPs from a technician's viewpoint.
• Comfort wearing cleanroom attire (gown, mask, gloves) and following ESD-control protocols.
• Background in Defense/Aerospace or Near-Infrared/Optical industries (nice to have).
• Experience in certified cleanrooms (Class 1,000 or better).
• Familiarity with ISO QMS and 5S lean manufacturing.
• Soldering certifications (IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610) are a strong plus.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and test engineers to build and test infrared optical systems for airborne, maritime, and space platforms.
• Fabricate and assemble high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies with reliability.
• Develop and implement integration and test fixtures; set up and use test equipment; monitor results.
• Own internal prototyping resources including mechanical and electrical fabrication equipment.
• Manage R&D space from facilities and organizational perspectives.
• Travel to external labs and test sites as needed.
