Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced R&D Engineering Technician to collaborate with engineers on innovative infrared optical systems for airborne, maritime and space platforms. You will fabricate high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies and manage rapid prototyping, ensuring efficient project execution and robust test results.

You will oversee internal prototyping resources, develop test fixtures, and coordinate with external labs while maintaining strict ESD and cleanroom standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as an electro-mechanical technician on high-precision micro-assemblies or related equipment.
• Rapid prototyping ownership from concept to completion with minimal oversight.
• Strong electrical fundamentals and wiring harness fabrication skills.
• Ability to document workflows and draft SOPs from a technician’s perspective.
• Comfortable in a cleanroom environment and following ESD protocols.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and test engineers to build and test infrared optical systems.
• Fabricate and assemble high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Develop test fixtures, set up equipment, monitor results, and report findings.
• Own internal prototyping resources and manage R&D facilities.
• Support external testing initiatives and travel to external labs as needed.
• Help scale up production through NPI and mentorship.
