Job summary

Anduril Industries in Hudson, NH designs infrared camera systems for aerospace and defense. The R&D Engineering Technician will collaborate with development and test engineers to fabricate high-precision electro-mechanical assemblies and rapid-prototype new optical systems for airborne, maritime and space platforms.

You will own internal prototyping resources, document workflows, and support external testing, with eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician working on high-precision micro-assemblies, vacuum systems, or wafer-handling equipment.
• Rapid Prototyping Ownership: manage R&D builds from concept to completion with minimal oversight—including sourcing components, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Electrical fundamentals: Ohm's Law, voltage drop calculations, wiring gauge sizing.
• Harness & Cable fabrication: wiring harnesses, precision soldering, pin crimping, connector assembly.
• Process documentation: document workflows, redline drawings, draft SOPs from technician viewpoint.
• Work environment: wear cleanroom attire and follow ESD-control protocols.
• Preferred: Defense, Aerospace, or NIR/Optical industries.
• Cleanrooms: experience in Class 1,000 / 100 or better.
• ISO quality management systems and 5S lean manufacturing.
• Soldering certifications (IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610) are a strong plus.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Work with development and test engineers to build and test infrared optical systems for airborne, maritime and space platforms.
• Fabricate, assemble, and ensure high reliability electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Develop and implement integration and test fixtures; set up existing test equipment and report results.
• Own internal prototyping resources and support external testing initiatives.
• Manage R&D space from facilities and organizational perspectives.
• Travel to external laboratories and test sites as needed.
