Job summary

Snorkel AI is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive the zero-to-one build for regulated data environments. You will define requirements for government and regulated customers, lead architectural changes, and deploy secure services with a focus on auditability and compliance.

You will collaborate with Security, Compliance, Product, and Applied AI teams to translate requirements into engineering work, ensuring a robust, scalable platform while hiring and mentoring engineers for rapid

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on depth.
• 2+ years in engineering management leading a team.
• 2+ years deploying into government or regulated cloud environments.
• Experience designing, building, and operating scaled systems in production in the cloud, including infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and containerized services.
• Deep technical fluency enabling architecture reviews and meaningful changes, not just management.
• Experience with security-sensitive or regulated environment compliance (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, CMMC, SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar).
• Experience hiring, developing, and retaining engineers in rapid growth.
• Clear communication with engineers, security/compliance partners, customers, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers through a zero-to-one build for regulated environments.
• Define requirements of regulated customers and deploy services end-to-end.
• Coordinate with platform, security, and compliance teams to plan architecture changes.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines with security and change control.
• Own operational outcomes: monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, audit trails.
• Drive hiring and maintain a high talent bar as the team scales.
• Establish engineering standards for design reviews, testing, observability, and RCA.
