Job summary

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking an Infotainment UI/UX Design Engineer to join the Production Application Team within the Infotainment Software Department.

You will plan and design infotainment features, develop UI/UX wireframes, and create technical specs based on user research. Collaboration with multiple software teams and partners is essential; travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, HCI, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
• 1+ years of professional experience in the automotive infotainment field.
• Familiarity with engineering spec definition: SRS, SAD, SDD, and wireframe.
• Familiarity with Figma.
• Knowledge of graphic interface design principles.
• Understanding of human factors and ergonomics for touch-based infotainment design.
• Ability to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent time management, self-management, and organizational skills.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and timelines.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design automotive infotainment features and define engineering specs.
• Develop user interface, user experience, and wireframes for infotainment features.
• Investigate customer needs and create technical specs from results.
• Design head-unit screens and wireframes from a user-centered perspective.
• Design infotainment contents and UX for user-friendly labels and instructions.
• Conduct user acceptance tests and identify improvements.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Control, Autonomous Driving, and Infotainment teams to support concept development.
• Partner with content providers, prototyping services, university labs, and suppliers on UI/UX items.
• Benchmark competitors and analyze UI/UX trends.
• Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
