Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking an Information Security Engineer to own a security domain, implement controls, automate processes and reduce risk. You’ll work in a hybrid model at the Stevens Point, WI office, with no remote option.

The role includes managing security platforms, conducting audits, and driving security policy improvements across cloud, data protection, and endpoint domains. Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in information security, hands-on firewall and cryptography experience,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience in Information Security, Networking, Systems Administration or Computer Science; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of related work experience.
• Thorough, hands-on understanding of network firewall/proxy design and operations, cryptographic technologies, AWS network and security platforms, and data protection technologies.
• Scripting experience required.
• Sec+, AWS SysOps Administrator, or GSEC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the maturity and effectiveness of multiple security platforms ensuring proper performance, availability and capacity management.
• Provide moderate to complex technical maintenance services and oversee implementation of patches to integrated security systems and solutions.
• Conduct audits and code testing to identify data security vulnerabilities and undertake necessary actions to eliminate identified threats.
• Ensure security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with overall information standards.
• Communicate, implement, enforce and monitor security controls to protect the organization's technology assets.
