Position Overview:
This onsite role will be the primary on-site IT resource for plant users, supporting day-to-day IT operations, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing support tickets, and coordinating with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) for escalated issues.
The role is hands-on, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment where reliable IT support is critical to daily operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 on-site IT support for plant employees and users.
- Manage and resolve IT support tickets, escalating complex issues to MSP or appropriate IT teams.
- Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, network connectivity, Microsoft 365, and other common IT issues.
- Support plant IT systems, applications, and technology used by Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functions.
- Work closely with the MSP and third-party technology providers to coordinate support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Perform day-to-day IT activities including user onboarding/offboarding, account and access support, equipment setup, software installation, and asset management.
- Support plant network, infrastructure, and IT equipment in coordination with central IT and external providers.
- Maintain IT documentation, inventory, procedures, and knowledge-based information.
- Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, deployments, and technology improvements at the plant.
- Monitor recurring issues and identify opportunities to improve plant IT reliability and user experience.
- Follow company IT security, access management, change management, and support standards.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, desktop support, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Strong Level 1/Level 2 troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with an MSP or managed IT service provider.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work directly with plant employees and leadership.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a plant environment.
- Basic understanding of networking, Active Directory/Entra ID, Windows, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting ERP, manufacturing applications, or other plant systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience working with a third-party certification body — a U.S. NRTL such as UL or CSA, or an international certification body or Notified Body such as TÜV, SGS, or Bureau Veritas — on test plan development, surveillance audits, corrective actions, or certification renewals.
- Experience working with an MSP or managed IT service provider.
- Manufacturing or plant IT is highly desirable.
- Experience with rigging, hoist, crane, or other industrial or mechanical equipment.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks EPDM/PDM or similar controlled-document systems.
- Exposure to international certification or RF marking schemes, such as ANATEL, SRRC, or ICASA.
