Position Overview
Directs and coordinates Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Programming activities in support of plant operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of plant manufacturing engineering including process development and control, cost estimates, routing, and planning for new product development, methods development, plant improvement, and cost reduction.
- Measure and provide supporting data on cost saving programs to not exceed budget.
- Develop and deploy programming, work holding, and tooling strategies for capital equipment to achieve utilization and cost targets.
- Identify projects with staff Managers and the plant manager to significantly improve Delivery, Quality, Cost and Service in every aspect of our business.
- Prioritize projects based on impact to division and ease of implementation.
- Focus the manufacturing engineering group on full support of Lean and continuous improvement of all processes. Support plant wide culture of continuous improvement.
- Determine make or buy designations for new and existing components.
- Oversee and launch new products lines and development.
- Lead problem-solving teams to determine true ‘root cause” with permanent deployed solutions.
- Take a self-directed approach to improving manufacturing operations and product flow.
- Conduct annual progressive performance reviews with detailed education and career growth plans for the team.
- Other various duties as assigned.

- Analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and time manage independently.
- Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think abstractly and deal with ambiguous/undefined problems with a desire to collaborate with others.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Engineering degree is preferred).
- Requires experience with CNC Programming, Machining, Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma and TQM systems.
- Requires experience in tools and systems including, but not limited to, Control Plans, CAPEX Planning, FMEA, Quality Containment, Management of ECN Process, Maintenance of Accurate Routers, Root Cause Analysis, ISO 9001-2000, and Design of Experiment.
