Job summary

The City of Ecorse is seeking an Information Technology Technician to join the IT department. The role focuses on installing and maintaining end-user PCs in a Windows environment and supporting police technologies such as in-car systems, GPS, Live Scan, Axon, and Tyler New World.

Responsibilities include upgrading infrastructure, assisting with passwords, emails, office software, and devices, as well as supporting servers, firewalls, WiFi, and virtualization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a computer or technology related field.
• Or one year of experience with at least two of the following certifications: A+, N+, Sec+, MCSA Windows 10, MCSA Windows Server, CCNA, VCTA.
• Knowledge of basic computer, TCP/IP, and WiFi troubleshooting in a Windows environment.
• Basic understanding of router, switches, and Ethernet wiring standards.
• Knowledge of Android phones, Windows Servers, Virtualization, EDR, Hyper-Visors, and G-Suite a plus.

• Ability to maintain good customer relations with citizens and effective working relationships with supervisors and colleagues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE

• An associate degree in a computer or technology related field,
• or one year of experience with at least two of the following certifications: A+, N+, Sec+, MCSA Windows 10, MCSA Windows Server, CCNA, VCTA
• Knowledge of basic computer, TCP/IP, and WiFi troubleshooting in a Windows environment
• Basic understanding of router, switches, and Ethernet wiring standards
• Knowledge of Android phones, Windows Servers, Virtualization, EDR, Hyper-Visors, and G-Suite a plus
• Successfully passing pre-employment physical, drug screen and be willing to and pass a background investigation and finger printing
