Position Overview
This role is critical in the process for CJLA to convert its warehouse network onto a Tier-1 cloud warehousemanagement platform, blending senior business analysis with hands‑on project management. This role will ownrequirements end to end — from discovery workshops with operations through BRD authoring, configuration validation,UAT, go‑live and stabilization — while also carrying the schedule, risks and vendor coordination for the sites and workstreams you are assigned.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Business Analysis
- Lead discovery sessions with operations, solutions and customer stakeholders to capture current‑state process and target‑state requirements.
- Author Business Requirements Documents, functional specifications, process flows and gap analyses against the standard golden template.
- Translate operational requirements into WMS configuration, RF screen, report and interface designs; validate vendor design responses against the original requirement rather than accepting them at face value.
- Define EDI and API integration requirements across WMS, ERP, customer trading partners and middleware, including message mapping and exception handling.
- Build and execute test plans (SIT, UAT), manage defect triage, and drive issues to closure with the vendor and internal development team.
- Write SQL queries against the WMS database for data validation, reconciliation and issue analysis.
- Provide onsite and remote go‑live support: cutover execution, day‑one floor support alongside operations, real‑time troubleshooting of transactions, interfaces and RF processes, and structured hypercare throughstabilization.
- Diagnose production issues under time pressure — isolate whether the cause sits in configuration, data, integration or process, and either resolve it or hand it to the right party with the analysis already done.
Project Management
- Own the project plan, milestones and critical path for assigned sites and workstreams; maintain a defensible schedule rather than a decorative one.
- Run status reporting, risk and issue logs, and steering updates for internal leadership and customers.
- Manage scope: identify change requests early, quantify impact, and route them through a documented approval path.
- Coordinate across IT, operations, solutions, finance and external vendors, holding parties to committed dates and escalating on a defined cadence.
- Manage go‑live readiness and cutover planning, including go/no‑go criteria and post‑launch stabilization exit.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned or required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in business analysis, WMS implementation or supply chain systems, including at least 3 years in a project management or project lead capacity.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability when facing ambiguous, undocumented issues with operational pressure.
- Delivery experience across multiple clients or business units, in a client‑facing capacity where scope, schedule and stakeholder expectations were yours to manage.
- Ownership of at least two full‑lifecycle WMS implementations or site conversions, from requirements through go‑live and stabilization.
- Working knowledge of core warehouse processes: receiving, putaway, replenishment, wave and order picking, packing, shipping, cycle counting, lot and expiration date control.
- Working SQL proficiency — able to independently write joins and aggregate queries to validate data and investigate issues.
- Practical understanding of EDI transaction sets used in 3PL operations (940, 943, 944, 945, 947, 856, 850) and of integration concepts such as middleware, mapping and error reprocessing.
- Excellent written communication: BRDs, specifications and executive‑level status summaries that stand on their own without verbal explanation.
- Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends during cut‑over and go‑live windows, and to work directly on the warehouse floor with operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Körber / Infios WMS (formerly HighJump), including configuration, RF screen design or report development.
- Background with a systems integrator, implementation partner or technology consulting practice delivering WMS or supply chain projects.
- Third‑party logistics (3PL) background with multi‑client, multi‑site operations.
- Experience with Boomi or comparable integration platforms.
- Exposure to legacy‑to‑modern WMS conversion programs, including data migration and parallel‑run strategies.
- PMP, CAPM, CBAP or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with yard management, parcel or TMS integration.
