A leading government department is seeking a Senior Software Technical Specialist to lead application development efforts. The role involves database design and front-end development using Oracle APEX. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Eligible for telework with occasional travel required.
Eligible for telework in accordance with CDI's telework policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, but other authorized transit subsidies are available for qualifying employees.
Under the direction of the IT Supervisor II, Oracle APEX Application Development, the incumbent serves as the Senior Software Technical Specialist in the Application Development & Maintenance (ADAM) Bureau. The role involves leading complex system analysis, design, and coding efforts to support the Department's mission-critical applications. The incumbent is expected to take the lead in database design, analysis, and front-end development of an application suite using platforms including Oracle APEX, Oracle Database 19, and BI Publishing Servers.
The incumbent will assist in the ADAM Bureau's Maintenance & Operations (M&O) process by handling priority APEX application fixes and training team members on Oracle APEX platforms. As a key member solving important business problems, the incumbent must utilize technology through prescribed methods and standards, including CDI's Software Development Methodology (SDM), and independently research and adopt new technologies. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are required.
