Role: IT Service Manager / Supervisor
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: Remote
Resources can be based in Canada or USA
The IT Service Manager will report directly to the Manager of Product and IT Support Delivery. The IT Service Manager will be responsible for implementing ITIL processes, managing IT services, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT support. This includes the implementation of technology and business processes in support of other functional groups or cross-functional initiatives. The role also involves defining and implementing the company’s cloud strategy in support of professional services requirements and new product and services offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- ITIL Process Implementation: Implement and manage the IT Service Management lifecycle, including the Request, Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes and procedures.
- Service Assurance: Ensure that all IT services meet the levels of availability required by the business and are delivered in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Incident Management: Manage major incidents to minimize downtime and negative impact on business operations.
- Change Management: Oversee the Change Management process to ensure minimal disruption to IT services.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships and liaise with vendors for sales, service, and support of all IT systems and tools. Serve as the primary contact for software, hardware, and network-related vendors.
- Cloud Strategy: Define and implement the company’s cloud strategy in support of professional services requirements and in support of new product and services offerings.
- Staff Development: Recruit and develop IT staff in alignment with IT objectives and corporate needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science or a technology-related discipline. Master’s degree considered an asset.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in the Information Technology field, including new product development, implementation, and at least 5 years of progressively responsible IT management experience, inclusive of senior-level technology-related strategic planning, budgeting, and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including VMware virtualization, IaaS, Cloud backup, Disaster Recovery, and Unified Communications.
- Expertise in implementing and managing software solutions in the areas of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), E-Commerce solutions, and Middleware.
- Systems design and development process including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation, and IT operational management.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- ITIL Foundation Certification is expected, and higher level ITIL certifications can be beneficial
- Project Management Professional (PMP) would be advantageous.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT Service Management.
- Proven experience in managing a team.
- Proven experience in instilling the ITIL Processes.
Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) would be preferred.
