Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex technical debt remediation initiatives across a global technology landscape. The role requires strong coordination across multiple cross skilled teams, operating in different time zones, while maintaining high standards of delivery governance and reporting.
What You Will Do:
- Lead and deliver projects focused on the identification, prioritisation, and remediation of technical debt across legacy applications
- Coordinate and align multiple cross functional teams (engineering, infrastructure, security, architecture) operating across several time zones
- Establish and maintain robust project governance, planning, and controls using recognised PM methodologies
- Produce clear, accurate, and high-quality reporting covering risks, issues, dependencies and milestones
- Proactively manage risks and issues, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation
- Engage with senior stakeholders to provide transparent updates and support informed decision making
- Drive consistency, accountability, and delivery discipline across all workstreams
- Own and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are tracked, controlled, and kept on plan, with accurate forecasting and timely financial reporting
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager delivering complex technology change, including technical debt remediation
- Demonstrated ownership of project budgets and financial governance in a complex delivery environment
- Strong understanding of structured project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or hybrid approaches)
- Ability to manage and influence distributed, cross skilled teams across multiple time zones
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills
- Highly organised, detail oriented, and delivery focused with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, with ideally 2+ years managing Technical Debt Remediation.
- Experience in the insurance of financial services industry.
- Advanced experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Advanced experience using Structured Project Portfolio Tools
