Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an IT Project Manager to drive technology projects from planning through completion in Oakland, CA. This on-site role coordinates across business stakeholders, technical resources, vendors, and MSPs to ensure timely delivery and value realization.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of IT project management experience, strong communication with technical teams, and a business-minded approach to IT initiatives. PMP training is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT Project Management experience.
• Experience managing technology projects from planning through execution.
• Experience managing technology vendors and working with MSPs.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams and understand IT environments.
• PMP certification or formal project management training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the IT project intake and triage process, including prioritization, status tracking, and reporting
• Coordinate technology initiatives from discovery and planning through implementation and completion
• Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and project documentation
• Coordinate execution across internal stakeholders, technical resources, vendors, and MSPs
• Serve as the primary day-to-day relationship manager for technology vendors, including leading meetings, tracking deliverables, and ensuring timely completion of work
• Support system implementations, upgrades, integrations, vendor transitions, and software testing
• Partner with internal analysts on business process improvement and automation initiatives
• Identify project risks, roadblocks, and competing priorities and escalates concerns when appropriate
• Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and executive updates
• Assist with broader IT operational initiatives, including vendor coordination, equipment deployments, and onboarding activities as needed

Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 + bonus (dependent on experience)

We are partnering with an established, employee-owned organization in Oakland to hire an IT Project Manager. This position will be responsible for driving technology projects from initial planning through completion while coordinating across business stakeholders, technical resources, vendors, and managed service providers (MSPs).

The ideal candidate will be a business-minded IT Project Manager who has successfully managed technical projects and is comfortable operating between business and technology teams. This individual does not need to be an engineer or hands‑on infrastructure expert but should possess enough technical knowledge to effectively manage IT initiatives, communicate with technical resources, and understand the environments supporting their projects.
