Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid 3 days a week)
Position Summary
The IT Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of internal IT services while building and maturing Brickwork’s technology operations. This is a hands-on role that combines end-user support with strategic ownership of IT infrastructure, security, device management, and operational processes. The IT Operations Manager will play a critical role in creating a reliable, secure, and scalable technology foundation that supports our employees and business growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who enjoys balancing technical execution with continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & End User Support
- Lead day-to-day IT operations and provide Tier 2/3 technical support for end users.
- Ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, network, and application issues.
- Manage workstation deployment, imaging, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle replacement.
- Maintain IT asset inventory, software licensing, and equipment tracking.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce (as applicable) IT documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and resolve any non-compliance issues.
Employee Technology Experience
- Own the onboarding and offboarding technology process, ensuring new employees have the equipment, accounts, and system access needed on their first day and ensuring access is removed and company property returned on their last day.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access across business systems, aligned with IT Security policies.
- Continuously improve the employee IT experience through responsive support and streamlined processes.
- Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, including Brickwork’s existing MSP and InfoSec advisory firm.
- Coordinate third-party resources for system implementations, acquisitions, and data migrations.
Security & Compliance
- Support the organization's cybersecurity strategy and maintain secure endpoint management practices.
- Maintain existing and implement new IT policies and controls supporting future SOC2 / ISO certification and data governance initiatives, as well as regulatory compliance.
- Implement and maintain security policies, endpoint protection, and vulnerability remediation.
- Develop and deliver employee cybersecurity awareness and phishing training programs.
Strategic Initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve internal IT services, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in technology planning, budgeting, and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Recommend technology solutions that align with business objectives and support organizational growth.
- Establish scalable IT processes and best practices that enable future expansion.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive IT support, systems administration, or IT operations experience.
- Experience administering Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, Windows and Mac devices, and endpoint management solutions.
- Hands-on experience with workstation imaging, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, endpoint security, and IT infrastructure.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.
Preferred
- Knowledge of SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST and/or other information security compliance frameworks as well as privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc).
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or enterprise data migrations.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified, CompTIA Security+, Network+, ITIL, or similar.
