Job description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-onSystems Administrator / IT Administratorto support a rapidly growing, multi-location organization with operations throughout the United States.

This position reports directly to the CIO and will initially serve as the organization's primary internal technical resource outside of the CIO. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day IT operations, supporting users and branch locations, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, coordinating with vendors and managed service providers, and helping improve the systems and processes needed to support continued growth and acquisitions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, communicates effectively with both technical and nontechnical users, and wants to play an important role in building a scalable IT environment.

Key Responsibilities
User and Branch Support
  • Provide responsive technical support to employees across corporate offices and branch locations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, printing, authentication, and application issues.
  • Support new-user onboarding, employee transitions, account provisioning, and access management.
  • Assist branch locations with network, workstation, peripheral, phone, and business application issues.
  • Escalate and coordinate complex support issues with vendors, service providers, and application partners.
  • Travel to branch locations as needed for installations, troubleshooting, acquisitions, projects, and technology upgrades.
Systems and Network Administration
  • Administer and support firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and site-to-site connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot network performance, internet outages, remote-access issues, and communication between locations.
  • Support a distributed network environment with multiple branch locations and continued geographic expansion.
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor network security policies, firewall rules, VLANs, VPN tunnels, and remote-access solutions.
  • Support Cisco Meraki environments; direct Meraki experience is strongly preferred.
  • Assist with network deployments, branch openings, office moves, acquisitions, and infrastructure standardization.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of network equipment, computers, licenses, applications, and other technology assets.
Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services.
  • Manage users, groups, licenses, permissions, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and application access.
  • Support multifactor authentication, conditional access, single sign-on, passwordless authentication, and identity-security initiatives.
  • Assist with endpoint management, device enrollment, application deployment, security configuration, and policy enforcement.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 service health, security alerts, administrative changes, and user-access issues.
ERP and Business Application Support
  • Support ERP users, application access, security settings, user permissions, printers, reporting, and configuration-related requests.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and ERP vendors to troubleshoot application and integration issues.
  • Assist with testing, upgrades, migrations, new-location deployments, and acquisition-related system integrations.
  • Develop an understanding of business workflows and recommend practical technical improvements.
  • Support additional business applications, including ecommerce, help desk, security, communications, and operational platforms.
Ecommerce and Integration Support
  • Provide technical support for the company's ecommerce environment and related integrations.
  • Assist with user access, application settings, product or data feeds, email notifications, third-party applications, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with marketing, operations, vendors, and development partners to resolve ecommerce issues.
  • Help monitor integrations between ecommerce, ERP, Microsoft 365, and other business systems.
Documentation and Process Improvement
  • Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for systems, networks, branch configurations, user access, applications, vendors, and support procedures.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, onboarding checklists, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Document technology requirements and configurations for newly acquired or opened locations.
  • Identify repetitive support issues and recommend automation, standardization, or process improvements.
  • Help establish scalable IT practices that can support rapid organizational growth.
Vendor and MSP Management
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for our managed service providers, VoIP providers, software vendors, and hardware partners.
  • Coordinate vendor support cases, installations, renewals, projects, and service escalations.
  • Review vendor recommendations and help ensure that work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Track open issues and hold service providers accountable for resolution and performance.
Security and Operational Support
  • Help maintain security controls across user accounts, endpoints, networks, cloud systems, and business applications.
  • Review alerts and assist with investigating suspicious activity, account compromises, malware, phishing, and other security incidents.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, patching, backups, disaster recovery, and business-continuity efforts.
  • Follow change-management and documentation practices when modifying production systems.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance or urgent issue response when necessary.
Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a company with geographically distributed offices, stores, branches, or warehouses.
  • Experience integrating newly acquired companies or locations into an existing technology environment.
  • Experience supporting organizations undergoing rapid growth.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, and single sign-on.
  • Experience working with managed service providers and technology vendors.
  • Experience with IT service-management or help desk platforms.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, email security, vulnerability management, backup, and disaster-recovery technologies.

  • Able to balance urgent user-support needs with longer-term infrastructure projects.
  • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership, vendors, branch managers, and employees at all levels.
  • Interested in helping build and improve an IT operation rather than simply maintaining existing systems.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving organization where priorities may change as the company grows.
Physical and Travel Requirements
