Job summary

Franklin Fitch is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our technology infrastructure, security posture, and IT operations team within a highly regulated financial services environment. You will ensure systems are secure, compliant, resilient, and aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, including SOX, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001, and will partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years IT management experience, ideally within financial services or regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of network administration and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • SOX IT controls.
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001.
  • IAM, MFA, and least-privilege access.
  • Familiarity with DLP, encryption standards, and secure data retention.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including network infrastructure, systems administration, help desk support, and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, SOX, GLBA) as they relate to IT systems and data handling.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams to support audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Manage cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint protection, identity and access management, and incident response.
  • Oversee patch management, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts.
  • Maintain documentation for IT controls, audit trails, and change management processes.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, security, and scalability.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including cloud providers and MSPs.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including regular testing.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our technology infrastructure, security posture, and IT operations team. This role is critical to supporting our financial services business in a highly regulated environment, ensuring systems are secure, compliant, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements specific to financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including network infrastructure, systems administration, help desk support, and vendor management
  • Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, SOX, GLBA) as they relate to IT systems and data handling
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams to support audits and regulatory examinations
  • Manage cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint protection, identity and access management, and incident response

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of IT management experience, ideally within financial services, banking, insurance, or another regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of network administration, systems architecture, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory compliance frameworks
  • SOX IT controls
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001
  • Experience with identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege access models
  • Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP), encryption standards, and secure data retention practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ITIL
  • Experience with financial industry-specific platforms (trading systems, portfolio management software, core banking systems, etc.)
  • Familiarity with archiving/e-discovery tools for regulatory recordkeeping (e.g., Smarsh, Global Relay)
  • Prior experience in a broker-dealer, investment advisory, banking, or insurance environment
