Responsibilities

  • Provide IT equipment management, inventory, and timely deployment of devices.
  • Deliver school and classroom IT support, training staff on essential software and hardware.
  • Maintain network access and security; troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Onboard/offboard staff with equipment, accounts, and access control.
  • Provide on-site AV support for events and testing; manage ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with MSS network, school district, and leaders to fulfill priorities.

The Role

The IT Administrator is a salaried, exempt role with a broad range of responsibilities providing support to all school-based staff and students to ensure effective application of various technology and resources within the classroom. Through regular testing and maintenance, the IT Administrator helps to improve the student and classroom experience, enhance student performance, and increase operational efficiency.

This role is essential in maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports instructional excellence and high student achievement. The IT Administrator is expected to operate with urgency, precision, and a service mindset, consistently delivering at a high standard across all schools. This position reports to the Senior IT Administrator and is a key member of the network operations team, providing support across all schools in the network. This role will be required to perform other duties as assigned to support the needs and priorities of the organization. Meeting Street Schools retains the right to change or assign other responsibilities as necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

Technology Equipment Management:

  • Establish and uphold proactive systems, including inventory, for hardware management that reflect best-in-class practices and organizational standards of excellence
  • Conduct routine testing and maintenance of all technology equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability
  • Provide recommendations on device replacement or outsourced maintenance, as needed
  • Manage the delivery, installation, and set up of new devices and equipment
  • Oversee the implementation of digital education platform subscriptions

School and Classroom Support:

  • Manage internet network access and security
  • Train staff and teachers on essential software and equipment to enhance usability and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues while providing clear communication on resolution timelines

Organizational Support:

  • Serve as the network expert for assigned digital education platforms
  • Evaluate new digital platforms for compatibility with existing systems and identify required implementation steps
  • Assist with the management of class rosters for digital education platforms

Staff Onboarding and Offboarding:

  • Provide new staff with necessary equipment, software accounts, and email addresses
  • Ensure collection of all issued technology from departing staff; deactivate access to email and all other services

Operations:

  • Provide on-site Audio/Visual support for school events and standardized testing days
  • Serve as a liaison between the school and MSS network and school district, as applicable
  • Proactively monitor and manage the ticketing system: for incoming requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses

Required Education and Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and G-Suite
  • Demonstrated success supporting technology infrastructure in a complex organization with high service expectations

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 4+ years, or equivalent, of proven experience in IT Support and Network Administration, with a strong track record of successfully implementing new systems and enhancing operational efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Experience working in educational or nonprofit environments is a plus
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and balance competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, school leaders, and student families
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits:

The starting salary range for the Information Technology (IT) Administrator is $64,600-$80,000 and is commensurate with experience. Additionally, Meeting Street Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to:
