IT Systems Administrator (Contract to hire)
Location: Montgomery, AL
Base pay range
$35.00/hr - $37.00/hr
IT Site Administrator Responsibilities
- Maintain and support all site‑specific IT infrastructure including computers, printers, handheld devices, servers, networking equipment, and phone systems
- Provide hands‑on support for hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues including connectivity, DNS, DHCP, and VPN
- Install, configure, and manage virtual environments using Hyper‑V and VMware
- Support Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange
- Serve as the liaison between the corporate IT department and local site, ensuring alignment with global IT policies
- Manage site‑level backups, disaster recovery plans, and system updates
- Support new employee onboarding and offboarding, including hardware setup, software access, and IT orientation
- Track and manage IT assets, including procurement, deployment, and inventory management
- Monitor and manage user access and permissions across systems
- Coordinate with external vendors for local IT support and services when needed
- Assist with local implementation of corporate IT projects and upgrades
- Ensure compliance with security protocols, data privacy regulations, and best practices
- Maintain documentation related to IT processes, configurations, and user training materials
- Provide training and guidance to end users for common IT tools and applications
- Support audio/visual setup for meetings and presentations
IT Site Administrator Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in a similar IT support or systems administrator role
- Experience configuring and managing virtual environments (Hyper‑V and VMware)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, and Active Directory
- Proficient in network troubleshooting including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and VPNs
- Experience supporting printers and handheld devices (e.g., barcode scanners, mobile workstations)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience supporting ERP systems and mobile devices is a plus
- Familiarity with ITIL framework or certifications is a plus
- Must be detail‑oriented and customer service focused
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and support IT equipment physically if needed
- Flexibility to support occasional after‑hours or weekend work
