The role emphasizes hands-on work with Windows Server, AD, AWS, and 365, plus VLANs, VPNs, and endpoint management. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, with 5–7 years in IT-related roles.

• 35% Network Administration: maintain/analyze LAN/WAN, active directory, DNS/DHCP, VPN, security framing, backups, SOPs.
• 35% Technical Support & Helpdesk: remote/in-person support, ticket triage, imaging/deploying desks/devices, onboarding/offboarding.
• 30% Systems Analysis: evaluate systems/workflows, gather requirements, recommend software/integrations, IT roadmap planning.

IT Systems Administrator

Our client, a healthcare-technology manufacturer producing bed systems, patient lifting and repositioning solutions, and therapeutic support surfaces, is looking for a versatile IT Systems Administrator to join their growing technology team. This hybrid role blends network administration, end-user support, and systems analysis into a single position — ideal for a well-rounded technologist who enjoys variety and wants direct visibility into how their work impacts the organization.

This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a mid-sized environment (50-500 employees) where IT staff wear multiple hats, keep the network running smoothly, and serve as the trusted go-to for employees who need help.

What You Will Be Doing

• 35% - Network Administration: Maintain, monitor, and optimize network infrastructure including LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points. Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN services; manage security through firewall rules, VLAN segmentation, and patch management. Monitor performance and capacity to identify bottlenecks proactively, maintain backup/disaster-recovery and business-continuity procedures, and document network topology, configurations, and SOPs.

• 35% - Technical Support & Helpdesk: Serve as a primary point of contact for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, providing remote and in-person support. Triage and resolve tickets within SLAs, escalating complex issues as needed. Image, deploy, and decommission desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Onboard and offboard employees (accounts, equipment, access), maintain the IT knowledge base, and deliver occasional training on tools, security awareness, and best practices.

• 30% - Systems Analysis: Evaluate existing business systems and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, or consolidation. Gather requirements across departments and translate business needs into technical specifications. Research, recommend, and help implement new software, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades; participate in vendor evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, and proof-of-concept testing. Support ERP, CRM, and line-of-business application administration, and contribute to IT roadmap planning and project management.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of combined experience in IT support, network administration, and/or systems analysis

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VoIP systems, AWS architecture, and Microsoft 365 administration

• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, VPNs, VPCs, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure

• Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, Jamf, or similar)

• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot between focused project work and reactive support

Nice to Have

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator

• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation

• Exposure to ITIL practices or formal ticketing systems (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, Freshservice, etc.)

• SaaS administration and SSO/identity providers (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID)

• Background in business analysis, requirements gathering, or process documentation
