Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Information Systems Technical Analyst – Level 3/4 based in the United States.

As an Information Systems Technical Analyst, you will design, develop, and optimize modern SharePoint experiences and automated business solutions that support enterprise-wide digital initiatives. You will combine front-end development expertise, user experience design, and Microsoft Power Platform capabilities to create intuitive, responsive, and accessible digital environments. Working closely with business stakeholders, designers, and technical teams, you will translate complex requirements into scalable solutions that improve collaboration and operational efficiency. You will build and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, lists, and custom components while developing Power Automate workflows and Power Apps to streamline business processes. This role offers the opportunity to balance standard Microsoft 365 capabilities, low-code tools, and custom development in a collaborative, technology-driven environment. You will also help promote accessibility, security, governance, and sustainable development practices while delivering high-quality digital experiences.

Accountabilities
  • SharePoint Front-End Development: Design, develop, customize, and maintain modern SharePoint sites, pages, lists, web parts, and front-end functionality. Apply HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, and relevant SharePoint development technologies to deliver responsive, reliable, and user-friendly digital solutions.
  • User Experience and Interface Design: Create intuitive, accessible, and consistent user interfaces that align with business requirements and user expectations. Apply responsive web design principles and accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance, to ensure digital experiences are usable across devices and for diverse audiences.
  • SharePoint Configuration and Customization: Configure standard SharePoint capabilities and develop custom components when existing functionality does not meet business needs. Evaluate requirements and recommend the most appropriate approach, balancing out-of-the-box features, configuration, low-code solutions, and custom coding.
  • Power Automate and Workflow Automation: Design, develop, test, and maintain Power Automate cloud flows that automate approvals, notifications, document handling, task management, and data updates. Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive manual work and improve the efficiency and consistency of business processes.
  • Power Apps and Microsoft 365 Integration: Develop Power Apps solutions that address specific business needs and integrate SharePoint with approved Microsoft 365 services and data sources. Apply appropriate platform capabilities to deliver practical, scalable, and maintainable business applications.
  • Troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement: Maintain and enhance existing SharePoint and Power Platform solutions by diagnosing technical issues, improving usability and performance, and ensuring long-term maintainability. Implement appropriate error handling, monitoring, testing, and support procedures.
  • Security, Governance, and Compliance: Follow established standards for platform governance, security, permissions, approved connectors, accessibility, and change management. Maintain technical documentation and ensure solutions comply with relevant organizational standards and development practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders, user experience designers, IT teams, and technical specialists to understand business needs, gather requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and translate them into effective technical designs.
  • Solution Delivery and Implementation: Manage development activities throughout the solution lifecycle, including design, development, testing, demonstrations, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support. Incorporate stakeholder feedback and communicate technical recommendations, risks, and trade-offs clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Design Asset Development: Use visual design tools, including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, to support digital asset preparation and front-end presentation requirements. Apply strong visual judgment to maintain consistency and improve the overall quality of digital experiences.
  • Collaboration and Process Improvement: Help business users make better use of standard SharePoint functionality, reduce unnecessary customization, and identify opportunities to streamline workflows. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while balancing multiple priorities and maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
  • Education and Professional Experience: A bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline and the relevant experience required for the selected level:
    • Level 3: Five years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or three years with a master's degree.
    • Level 4: Eight years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or six years with a master's degree.
  • SharePoint Development: Demonstrated experience developing, customizing, and maintaining SharePoint solutions, particularly front-end functionality, modern pages, web parts, and user-focused digital experiences.
  • Front-End Programming: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript, including the Native Fetch API, SharePoint REST API, and Bootstrap. Strong knowledge of presentation-layer development and responsive web design is required.
  • Accessibility and User Experience: Thorough understanding of Section 508 accessibility compliance and the ability to create accessible, intuitive, and responsive interfaces that meet user and business needs.
  • Development Tools and Visual Design: Proficiency with Visual Studio and Adobe Photoshop, including working with layers, masks, channels, alpha channels, actions, and layer comps. Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and vector file formats is also required.
  • Power Automate and Microsoft 365: Experience developing Power Automate workflows and integrating Microsoft 365 services. Familiarity with automation scenarios such as approvals, notifications, document processing, and business process optimization is highly valuable.
  • Preferred Power Platform Expertise: Experience with Power Apps and broader Power Platform development practices, including cloud flows, troubleshooting, error handling, permissions, security, governance, and solution lifecycle management.
  • Preferred SharePoint Technologies: Familiarity with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), TypeScript, REST APIs, and Microsoft 365 integration capabilities is an advantage.
  • Technical Judgment and Problem-Solving: Ability to assess business requirements and select the most appropriate solution, whether through standard SharePoint configuration, low-code automation, or custom development. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Project and Process Management: Ability to manage development activities, documentation, testing, and implementation while balancing competing priorities and adapting to changing requirements.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, designers, IT professionals, and technical teams. The ability to incorporate direction, accept constructive feedback, and communicate technical concepts clearly is important.
  • Quality and Professionalism: Commitment to delivering accurate, accessible, secure, and maintainable solutions. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, initiative, sound technical judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset.
