**Job Description:**

The ISSO is responsible for maintaining the operational security posture of an information system, working closely with the ISSM and ISO. The role requires detailed knowledge to manage security aspects and oversee day-to-day security operations, including physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training. The ISSO will coordinate with the ISSM and ISO to monitor systems, develop/update authorization documentation, and manage configuration changes, assessing security impacts and recommending actions. The position supports Special Access Programs (SAPs) for DoD agencies, including HQ Air Force, OSD, and military compartments, providing daily support for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Assist the ISSM in fulfilling duties and responsibilities
2. Prepare, review, and update authorization packages
3. Ensure procedures for hardware/media sanitization are in place
4. Notify ISSM of changes affecting system authorization
5. Conduct periodic system reviews for compliance
6. Coordinate hardware/software/firmware changes with ISSM and AO/DAO
7. Monitor system recovery processes for security integrity
8. Maintain current security documentation
9. Review audit records and document anomalies
10. Attend security and technical training
11. Support cybersecurity self-inspections and assessments
12. Identify vulnerabilities and assist with countermeasures
13. Report on security safeguards
14. Perform ISSO duties for internal and external clients
15. Conduct security impact analyses for configuration changes

**Experience:**

• 2-5 years related experience
• SAP experience required
• Previous roles such as System, Network Administrator, or ISSO preferred

**Education:**

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years)

**Certifications:**

IAT Level II or IAM Level II within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security)

**Security Clearance:**

TS/SCI required, with ability to attain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

**Other Requirements:**

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

Salary range: $86,615 - $117,185, depending on experience, location, and contractual factors.
