Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)

What you will be doing?

In this role, the ISSE will be responsible to support numerous challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the nation’s security and intelligence mission. This program deploys the information assurance team, including ISSEs to other government programs in support of assessing and securing their systems so that they can operate. This creates an opportunity to work on a variety of programs and with many different teams while using standardized criteria, training, and protocols to ensure consistency for the customer. The program has specialized talents in the cybersecurity field and offers many resources to gain program and career level knowledge and expand growth opportunities.

The PROGRAM incorporates all levels of system and cybersecurity encompassing the customer’s security authorization process to include information analysis, integration, security risk management, resulting in an approved Information Systems Security Authorization, as applied through the RMF.

This is a growing, high-profile program where we are looking for top talent to support our client.

Specific skills needed to perform well in this role:

1. Ability to support our client in the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of IA architectures, systems, or system components.
2. Provide expertise and assistance to ensure that the architecture and design of information systems are functional and secure, including program of record systems and special purpose environments with platform IT interconnectivity.
3. Perform system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves, to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.
4. Apply knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
5. Must work effectively independently and with others.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Punctuality – must show up and perform.

What will you need for this job? Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph

1. Years Experience / Degree:
   1. Fourteen years of IA System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) experience, to include recent experience within the last five years, with Defense-in-Depth principles and technology, including access/control, authorization, identification and authentication, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), network and enterprise security architecture.
   2. Two years of experience applying security risks assessment methodology to system development, including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and resulting security risk analysis.
   3. Knowledge of Federal, NSA, IC, and DoD Information Security regulations, publications, and policy.
   4. IASAE Level III Certification (CISSP-ISSEP OR CISSP-ISSAP).

Labor Category requirements may vary with the level of experience and education. The salary range listed below is inclusive of all levels associated with this labor category.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000

The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, contractual requirements and may fall outside of this range.
