Position: Information Systems Security Engineer 2

This role supports one of our government clients in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Responsibilities

1. Perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations; recommend mitigation strategies.
2. Validate and verify system security requirements and establish system security designs.
3. Design, develop, implement, and integrate cybersecurity systems and components for networking, computing, and enclave environments, including those with multiple enclaves and differing data classification requirements.
4. Incorporate cybersecurity into deployed systems and assist architects and developers in implementing security functionalities aligned with agency policies and enterprise solutions.
5. Support the development of security architectures and enforce trusted relations among external systems.
6. Assess and mitigate security threats and risks throughout the system development lifecycle.
7. Contribute to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, certification, and awareness activities for system and network operations.
8. Review certification and accreditation documentation for completeness and compliance.
9. Support security authorization activities in accordance with NSA/CSS and DoD frameworks, including NIST RMF.

Minimum Qualifications

• 12 years of experience as an ISSE on programs of similar scope, including recent experience within the last five years with cybersecurity principles and technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field; four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Required Certifications: CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), CSSLP.

Required Capabilities

• Primary security engineering role on engineering teams for secure network, computing, and enclave environments.
• Apply cybersecurity policies, procedures, and workforce knowledge to design and implement secure environments.
• Engage with customers and project teams.
• Support security planning, risk analysis, and management activities.
• Identify security requirements for handling government data.

Clearance Requirement

This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. US citizenship is mandatory.
