Information Systems Security Engineer 1 with Security Clearance

Employer: Avid Technology Professionals | Location: Annapolis Junction | Salary: Competitive | Closing date: 10 May 2025

Sector: IT | Job Role: Security Engineer | Job Type: Permanent

Responsibilities:

1. Help plan and coordinate the IT security programs and policies
2. Provide support for a program, organization, system, or enclave's information assurance program
3. Provide security guidance and support to system developers, administrators, and owners
4. Provide guidance and support for directed changes related to security
5. Assess the security impact of changes to the system
6. Help maintain the security documentation, such as SSPs
7. Conduct security assessments on systems in support of system authorization
8. Support AO/DAO, SCA, and ISSM on system Assessment and Authorization (A&A) duties to obtain and maintain ATOs
9. Conduct daily review of and respond to security-related tickets
10. Utilize COTS/GOTS to communicate system status and compliance

Qualifications:

• Seven (7) years experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security, System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
• DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level I
• Certifications: CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), CSSLP
• Four (4) years of ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree

Desired Skills:

• Windows or Linux SA experience
• Network Admin experience
• AWS experience
• Experience with audit reduction and analysis tools such as Splunk
• Experience with vulnerability scanners like Nessus
• Experience with Xacta, LatteArt

Security Clearance:

TS/SCI with Poly required
