Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an experienced IT/MIS leader to oversee development and implementation of policies, budgets and staff in a complex technical environment at our Chino operation near Silver City, NM. The role directs supervisors, ensures project quality and coordinates with multiple departments.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree with extensive IT service delivery experience and a track record of managing capital projects, MIS services, and policy compliance in a 24/7

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus seven years of experience in computer technology service delivery.
• Associate's degree or IT Certificate plus nine years of related IT experience.
• High School diploma or GED plus eleven years of experience in computer technology service delivery.
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute and contribute to development of tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures in assigned area within the business.
• Direct Supervisors and other staff in daily operations.
• Monitor operations, MIS services and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret and implement policies and procedures.
• Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff; participate in the selection of staff.
• Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects.
• Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures and explain variations.
• Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development, coordinate work with other units and site departments.
• Communicate and collaborate with MIS Manager, Site Management and other departments; answer questions and provide information to all MIS customers.
• Review Capital Improvement Plans and make recommendations.
• Evaluate IT infrastructure, support processes and procedures, timely address deviations or corrections needed.
• Oversee and coordinate with PCN on MIS activities and other joint responsibilities.
• Oversee and enforce FCX MIS Policies and any other relevant compliance activities.
• Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field
