Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead Information Solutions projects including MES, data collection, and analytics. You will drive project execution, lead a growing team of engineers, and collaborate with clients across multiple industries to deliver integrated software solutions.

The role requires deep technical leadership, strong communication, and travel as needed to support project installation, start-up, and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience developing software solutions for consumer products, life sciences or industrial industries.
• Experience architecting MES, data collection / reporting systems across platforms.
• Strong preference for Ignition, Sepasoft, or custom MES/database development.
• Experience with Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java is a plus.
• Experience interfacing with clients and managing project scope; willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accountability for complete project execution including client interaction, team leadership, software architecture design, and project startup/commissioning support.
• Ability to manage multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Maintain staffing plans for the local team and ensure engineers meet billable targets.
• Mentor the team and provide training objectives and growth opportunities.
• Serve as a bridge from local engineers to firm-wide resources and standards.
• Interface with clients to define and manage scope on complex projects.
