Barry-Wehmiller Design Group is seeking a Software Engineer Manager to lead and deliver information solutions for clients across the manufacturing sector. You will oversee software architecture, project leadership, and staffing, while collaborating with clients to align technical solutions with business goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on technical work, mentorship, and cross-functional teamwork to drive project success and client satisfaction across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience developing and providing software solutions in consumer products, life sciences, or industrial sectors.
• Experience architecting and implementing MES, data collection/reporting systems across platforms.
• Strong preference for Ignition, Sepasoft, or custom MES/database development.
• Experience as a system integrator is a plus.
• Experience in Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, or Figma is a plus.
• Must have strong client interaction skills and the ability to work with all management levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop projects with clients across multiple industry sectors focusing on Information Solutions.
• Manage complete project execution including client interaction, team leadership, software architecture design, and project startup/commissioning support.
• Maintain staffing plans and ensure engineers meet billable targets.
• Mentor the team and provide training objectives and growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with firm-wide standards and resources to ensure project success.
• Drive projects to completion and resolve technical details as needed.
• Develop strong client relationships and support growth of the Information Solutions group.
