Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks an experienced IT professional to assist in cemetery management software development, maintain hardware, and provide technical support to staff.

You will gain understanding of cemetery operations and ensure IT services align with diocesan standards. Responsibilities include developing and integrating cemetery software, maintaining hardware and licenses, training end-users, solving issues via the in-house help desk, coordinating with the IT director and vendors,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, information technology or equivalent experience.
  • At least ten years of industry experience with emphasis on end-user interaction.
  • Experience with Claris/FilemakerPro, MacOS, JavaScript, SQL and UI/UX is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of cemetery operations.
  • Assist with development, integration and maintenance of cemetery management software.
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory, upgrade hardware/software and licensing.
  • Provide IT assistance to staff.
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
  • Resolve logged errors via in-house help desk in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with department manager to ensure proper activity alignment.
  • Liaise with IT leadership, vendors and employees.
  • Ensure conformity to Archdiocesan IT protocols.
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in software development and IT.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Assist in the development of cemetery management software, maintenance of hardware and provide technical assistance to our staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of cemetery operations
  • Assist with the development, integration and maintenance of cemetery management software
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory, upgrade hardware/software and licensing
  • Provide IT assistance to staff
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs
  • Resolve logged errors through in-house help desk in a timely manner
  • Work with department manager to ensure proper coordination of activities
  • Liaise with Archdiocesan Director of Information Technology and his team, vendors and employees
  • Ensure conformity to Archdiocesan IT protocols
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in software development and IT
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, information technology or similar discipline; or, equivalent professional experience
  • At least ten years of industry experience and in-depth knowledge of software development with emphasis on end-user interaction
  • Experience with Claris/FilemakerPro, MacOS, Java Script, SQL and UI/UX a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of database design and maintenance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to learn and understand the entire organization from a technological standpoint for the performance of the assigned duties

  • Ability to represent Catholic Cemeteries in a credible fashion both internally and externally.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with vendors, employees at all levels and other outside personnel as required.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Desire for harmonious, stable and relaxed on-site work atmosphere.
