Job summary

Summit Utilities is seeking an Information Security Engineer (SGL18) to design, build, and maintain security platforms spanning SIEM, EDR, IAM, and CSPM. The role emphasizes automation, scalable security architecture, and on-call support across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will partner with Architecture, Security Operations, IT, and Engineering to translate standards into production-grade controls, enabling secure software delivery and rapid threat detection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Information Security, or related field required; master's preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in security engineering or systems engineering.
• Professional certifications preferred: CISSP, GCIH, OSCP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, or CKS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security platforms (SIEM, EDR, IAM, CSPM) in production.
• Develop automation and integrations to reduce manual security work.
• Build data pipelines, ingestion, parsing, and enrichment for detection engineering.
• Support audits by providing evidence and artifacts for frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and product teams to embed secure design practices.
