Job summary

Katten is seeking an Information Security Analyst to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across the firm while improving threat detection, incident response, and data protection capabilities. The Analyst independently investigates security concerns and maintains confidentiality in all matters.

The role supports a hybrid work model across multiple offices, including Washington DC, and collaborates with IT, infrastructure, and business teams to strengthen security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–4 years in cybersecurity or equivalent.
• Experience investigating security alerts and incidents.
• Certs such as Security+ or GCIH are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze security logs and correlate data to identify suspicious activity.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and indicators of compromise.
• Investigate alerts and document findings, escalating when needed.
• Support incident response including containment and remediation.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders on risk mitigation.
• Develop and enhance detection rules, alerts, and controls.
• Stay updated on threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
