Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Information Security Analyst is primarily responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all ADHS data, including sensitive health and personal information. This role acts as the primary security liaison for the user community, ensuring that all staff understand and adhere to required data protection protocols. The Analyst manages identity and access control across the enterprise, handling user account creation, role modifications, and removals using modern authentication tools. Daily responsibilities include enforcing security standards across ADHS on-premise servers and cloud platforms, managing directory permissions, monitoring security alerts, and serving as the subject matter expert for all security‑related Help Desk escalations. In addition to daily security administration, the Analyst plays a critical role in change management by guiding secure deployments and enforcing version control procedures across all ADHS networks and applications. This position also serves as a technical project lead for ADHS secure data transfer and remote access initiatives, such as implementing secure VPNs and modern network access solutions. The role requires readiness for emergency incident response, which involves off‑hour account administration, forensic system lock‑downs, and rapid threat mitigation during active security events. Finally, the Information Security Analyst is expected to support a diverse, multicultural workforce that reflects the community. Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform Identity and access management, including all access control.
  • Create, maintain, and review Information Security access controls as assigned.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of new programs.
  • Create, update, and maintain, compliance with Information Security related procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • HIPAA and departmental standards and procedures as they relate to the functional application of effective data security procedures and best practice techniques in an enterprise environment.
  • Information Security Analysts need to be experienced in the administration of various ADHS operating systems Including but not limited to: Microsoft, Linux.
  • Demonstrates administration experience with Google, Microsoft technologies.
  • Experienced in the administration of Client Server concepts, design, and applications.
  • Knowledge of the performance management {PM) model and continuous quality improvement (CQI) methods in a public health setting.
  • General knowledge of information security technologies the areas of risk assessment, compliance and vulnerability management.

Skilled in:

  • Work management, work leadership and interpersonal relations.

Ability to:

  • Analyze, evaluate and draw logical fact-based conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all organizational.
  • Ability to administer Data Security across a wide variety of systems.
  • Ability to establish work flow and processes control processes with little or no supervision.
  • Performs fault isolation by validating, isolating, and correcting faults, and verifying service restoral with customers.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Associate’s degree plus 1 –3 years of experience in information security analysis (or equivalent experience)
  • Security+, SANS GIAC, SSCP, CISSP, MCSA, certification training or coursework pertaining to security policies, procedures, and techniques.

  • Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S. §36-113.

To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution.
