The United States Army Criminal Investigation Division is seeking an action officer to implement the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) programs. You will guide the handling of disclosure requests, coordinate with records offices, and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience is defined as:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level which includes, but is not limited to: assist in ensuring timely and accurate processing of disclosure requests, reviewing and analyzing organizational records; and perform research to answer requests and/or questions. OR Master's degree from an accredited university, or have at least 2 years of study leading to such degree related to the position, that would otherwise substitute for specialized experience. (If you select this choice, you MUST provide a copy of your official transcripts with your application to receive credit.) OR Combination of education and experience, which includes: Having some specialized experience (as described in the GS-09 qualifications), but less than one year; and more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. The total must be at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level which includes, but is not limited to: ensuring timely and accurate processing of disclosure requests; conduct research of FOIA/PA exemptions, directives, and regulations to prepare reports; and develop case files for each request. OR Ph. D or equivalent Doctoral degree from an accredited university, or have at least 3 years of study leading to such degree related to the position, that would otherwise substitute for specialized experience. (If you select this choice, you MUST provide a copy of your official transcripts with your application to receive credit.) OR Combination of experience and education, which includes: Having some specialized experience (as described in the GS-11 qualifications), but less than one year; and more than two years but less than three years of education as described in B. The total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two years by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)
