Job description

Work for the IMF. Work for the World. The International Monetary Fund is the International Organization at the heart of supporting the stability of the International Monetary and Financial System. The IMF continues to mature its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework to bring the scope and operations in line with those in other major organizations and international bodies. The scope of the ERM framework covers all key activities of the Fund, including surveillance, lending, and capacity development (CD). The Office of Risk Management (ORM) is at the center of these efforts and has the lead in developing and supporting implementation of a strengthened ERM framework at the Fund. This includes development of additional methodologies and tools to identify, assess, analyze, and monitor risk, including new risk methodologies and techniques, and their use by Area, Functional, and Support departments; and producing reports on the Fund’s risk profile at regular intervals. ORM is also tasked to highlight areas where additional risk analysis or mitigation efforts are needed and complement risk management policies and practices in operational departments. A key objective is enhanced risk-based decision support across the organization. To enable this, ORM is also responsible for developing Fund training in risk management, strengthening the governance around the risk management function and fostering a culture of risk acknowledgment in the organization. ORM will also provide an independent challenge of enterprise risk information and assessments of Departments.

Job Summary

Under general supervision of ORM’s Advisor, the (Senior) Information Management Analyst supports effective management, organization, analysis, and use of departmental information, data, and business processes. The incumbent combines information management, analytical, and ad hoc project management responsibilities to strengthen operational effectiveness, knowledge management, and strategic decision-making.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain ORM’s information and records management practices, including file structures, document classification, archiving, access management, and knowledge repositories to strengthen information governance, accessibility, and institutional knowledge. Maintain and analyze operational, budget, workforce, and other departmental data to identify trends, support management decision-making, and improve planning; develop dashboards, visualizations, and necessary reports. Support departmental Accountability Framework and budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting by tracking expenditures and commitments, supporting projections, and developing analysis that improve management visibility into resource utilization and emerging pressures. Support department automation efforts, including leveraging AI to enhance data analysis and information flows. Support ORM governance and senior management processes by coordinating engagements with internal and external stakeholders for the ORM Director, including Board papers, presentations, and governance committees, ensuring clear, timely communications with Management and the Executive Board. Develop and maintain departmental knowledge resources, website content, guidance, presentations, and other information products, working with subject‑matter experts to translate complex information into clear, accessible materials for internal and Fund‑wide audiences. Work closely with ORM coordinators to support departmental operations and workflows, providing a department‑wide perspective on processes to improve coordination, visibility, business continuity, and operational effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired through the completion of a university degree in programming/systems, computer science, data science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field of study, is required.
