International Monetary Fund (IMF) seeks a highly organized Projects Analyst to administer programs for IMFFA and IMFRA, and to support HRD.
The role includes liaison with boards, event coordination, budgeting, communication, and administrative duties in a hybrid setting at IMF Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Work for the IMF. Work for the World.
The Fund seeks a highly organized and experienced Projects Analyst to administer the work programs of the IMF Family Association (IMFFA) and the IMF Retirees & Alumni Association (IMFRA), as well as support the Fund’s Human Resources Department (HRD). The IMFFA provides a welcoming and supportive community for families of staff members; it offers spouses and families of Fund employees a variety of social programs, services, and events. The IMFRA helps current and future Fund retirees and alumni navigate retirement-related topics, represents their interests, fosters cooperation between the Association and the Fund, and helps retirees and alumni stay in touch with each by organizing social, educational, and other activities. The incumbent formally reports to HRD’s Organizational Change Management Unit and performs support work for both associations on behalf of the IMF. The IMF retains overall responsibility for the employment relationship, including hiring, promotion and termination decisions. Under Fund oversight, on a day‑to‑day operational basis, the role will support the Boards of Directors of IMFFA and IMFRA. Currently, both associations are working on a hybrid basis, with some days of in‑office work at IMF Headquarters and others remotely. The position’s workload typically requires 40 hours a week, allocated equally between the two organizations. Occasionally, events may require additional hours or work on evenings and weekends. During periods of reduced IMFFA and IMFRA activity, the incumbent may also support the work of HRD’s Organizational Change Management Division, which includes employee engagement, health & wellness, support for diversity and inclusion, and internal communications initiatives.
A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of a secondary school education, supplemented by a minimum of four years of relevant experience, is required. This is a one‑year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent's performance, budget availability, and continuous business need. The position is based at IMF Headquarters in Washington, DC, and only candidates who physically reside in the DC metro area will be considered.
