Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD, is seeking an Information and Data Resources Specialist to manage the lifecycle of mission-critical data within a DoD classified environment. You will organize metadata, ensure data accuracy, and support secure retrieval and distribution for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using databases to enter, search, retrieve and analyze records.
• Strong communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage the flow of high-value information.
• On-site full-time availability.
• Willing to travel to sponsor facilities for at least two weeks per year.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance and eventually Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply data management principles to capture metadata, organize content, prepare operational reports, and enhance search effectiveness.
• Perform quality control checks across the data lifecycle and resolve discrepancies.
• Acquire, validate, process, store, retrieve, and distribute documentation and data using information management systems.
• Troubleshoot data processing issues and ensure accuracy of information products.
• Support improvements to data storage, retrieval, and distribution workflows.
• Develop procedures, test plans, processing checklists, and quality control documentation.
• Develop reports and products for information repositories and workflows.
• Work in a DoD classified environment in accordance with security requirements.
