Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking an Information and Data Resources Specialist to manage the lifecycle of mission-critical information and data. You will work in a DoD classified environment, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and secure distribution, while applying metadata and data processing workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using databases to enter, search, retrieve and analyze records.
• Strong communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage high-value information flow.
• Willing to on-site full time.
• Able to travel to sponsor facilities for at least two weeks per year.
• Must be able to obtain Interim Secret clearance and eventually Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply data management principles to capture and validate metadata and enhance content categorization and search.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the data processing lifecycle to resolve discrepancies.
• Acquire, validate, process, store, retrieve and distribute sponsor documentation using information management systems.
• Troubleshoot data processing issues using analytical skills to ensure accuracy.
• Support improvements to data processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution capabilities.
• Develop procedures, test plans, processing checklists, and QA documentation.
• Develop reports and products of information repositories and workflows for efficient retrieval.
• Work in a DoD classified environment with appropriate security requirements.
